Lockdown in India ends in April 15. But I think the lockdown is going to be extended if the condition prevails. Lockdown is not the only factor. There ate travel restrictions and visa problems as a result of which many players cannot come. The nearest possible Window for the IPL was supposed to be May 1st. But analysing the current situation, it is not possible. Even if a match is played in empty stadium, gathering of 35-40 persons including players, is must and that is prohibited at the moment. So the cannot happen until the curve flatten and we can carry the things normally.
What are the possibilities!
IPL cannot happen in june-july. There will be some travel restrictions for sure and even if there are no restrictions and other events, they are rainy seasons and you can't afford that. So let's take from August. There are following events from July to September:- Bilateral series between West Indies and South Africa from 15th july to 16th August (2 Tests and 5 T20s)
- Bilateral series between England and Pakistan from 30th July to 2nd September (3 Tests and 3 T20s)
- West Indies tour of New Zealand in july
- England tour of Australia in July
- CPL T20 from 19th August to 20th September)
- Asia Cup in September
There is ICC Mens T20 World Cup from 18th October to 15th November. So there is very difficulty to get window. The only possibility is if WT20 is pushed. There is travel restrictions up to September in Australia. If that is stretched even for a month, everything will be postponed; so will WT20. If the World Cup is pushed, then October to November; IPL can happen. There will be no any events and all players will be available during that time. And plus point is that is the season of Diwali in India. There will be a great environment for the players as well as for the IPL. There is no certainty of IPL 2020, in case it happens this is the only possible Window i.e if the WT20 is pushed.
If not this season, we will get to watch IPL 2021. So we should not take any risks in such chaos. First, let's live and IPL is going nowhere.
